El Salvador International Airport (IATA: SAL, ICAO: MSLP), commonly known as Cuscatlan International Airport is located approximately 50 km (30 miles) from San Salvador, El Salvador. It was built in the 1970s to replace its predecessor, Ilopango International Airport, which is used for military aviation and charter flights, but it will be used in an international airport in 2009. It is also planned, a new airport on the coast of El Salvador, El Tamarindo, La Union, to build tourist facilities on the beach or in the vicinity of La Union to be as presented by the new modern port.

Modern facilities at the airport include duty-free shops, fast food and full-service restaurants, bars, air conditioning, tourist facilities, rental cars, clean toilets and spacious waiting rooms.
