Can a Thule travel/storage bag be used without a roof rack system? - van roof rack tent

I have a 1995 Honda Odyssey roof rack without what so ever. I used a bag of Thule roof bars with our previous van. Just wonder if I have the support system. Thank you!

I do not know me with a bag of Thule. How to ensure that the roof of the car if there is a shelf? Thule website to point out that the bag just a factory roof rack is granted.

Sears and other companies sell Hard Shell companies that do not require a roof rack. Not that either do not meet all makes and models of cars.
